Hark Up Music is holding a casting call for their 10th annual Christmas production entitled “Agent of Change.”

Hark Up is a contemporary Christmas show that over 25,000 people have experienced since it began back in 1999.  With a cast of over 200 people, together with Michigan’s finest vocalists and instrumentalists, Hark Up for many is the highlight of their holidays.  There are actors, singers, dancers, video elements as well as a 100 person multigenerational contemporary choir.  Hark Up is a fresh new way to celebrate the start of the Christmas Season!

“Agent of Change” is a very funny, very creative telling of the story of Christ’s birth.

If you are an experienced actor and love comedy, then you will love this show!  Hark Up takes the stage the first full weekend in December – 4, 5 and 6, in Grand Rapids.

The characters are as follows:

Gabe:  Lead character.  The angel Gabriel – a comedic role.  He is Agent 0007.  Think Steve Carrell in “Get Smart”.  Happy, fun guy who takes on the huge task of being God’s messenger of not so easy news. 

Michael:  Gabriel’s Angel friend.  He is a nice young “angel” kind of guy.

Mary:  The mother of Christ.  She is sweet, kind, optimistic and very outgoing. Mary was a teenager.

Joseph:  All American, hard working, macho man. Works with his hands.

Shepherd:  High strung sort of fellow.  “Rocky” is his folk hero.  Tough guy.

Magi:  Weary, tired fellow with strong and sincere convictions.  Appears to be about 50 or older. Speaks with a strong “Yiddish” accent.

3 Strolling Minstrels:  Need three men, ages can vary.  Must be strong singers and able to do comedy.  One needs to play a guitar and another will play hand percussion.  These three men will appear frequently throughout the show and are very funny.
