Hark Up is an multigenerational, multi-ethnic, contemporary Christmas event unlike any other in West Michigan. This unique event has been sharing its presentation of the Christmas story since 1999. For much of the year numerous volunteer Hark Up teams can be found planning and organizing this two-hour eclectic spectacular. Hark Up involves over 200 people from the community in various vocal groups, dance teams, instrumental ensembles, solos, drama, staging, and media. The program is not your typical Christmas program.
Each year a new concept is formed and new music is chosen to help tell an aspect of the true Christmas Story. While the event does include some traditional Christmas music the show primarily presents a wide breath of newer musical styles and popular contemporary artists. The event includes local seasoned artists, some of which many help mentor and encourage the next generation of artists. Our audience members will notice a number of local people young and old alike given opportunities to share their musical and artistic talents with the community.
Hark Up is sponsored by Hark Up Music, a non-profit 501©3 music and arts ministry. For more info on this ministry go to www.harkupmusic.org. |

| Hark Up Christmas Quotes |
“Thanks for all the effort (Amazing!)... The beautiful and real message of Christmas was delivered so poignantly! A special thanks for believing in my daughter and encouraging her along the way.”
A mom whose daughter sang in the Hark Up choir. |
“There is something contagious from the leadership of Hark Up that brings so much joy to the band and the choir, to every part of Hark Up. It is so inspirational and fun. Everytime I come to rehearsals it is a blast. It’s never a chore and it is always Spirit led”.
A Hark Up singer |
“Hark Up was a huge blessing for me to be part of something that touched so many people, in so many ways....yes, the music rocks and is so meaningful! Yes, the drama and the story was outstanding, but the sense of community that is built up around this event (this year in particular it seems) is shared such a special mix of people. It was great to get to know some of them a bit and I hope that there will be more opportunities to blend all of our talents again soon.
A Hark Up guest artist |
“I’d been struggling with my singing. I had not sung in years. I laid my singing before the Lord. The next day I got a call to sing in Hark Up. It was my answer to prayer. .... You’ve been so supportive, I really needed this.”

“Just want to say 'thank you' for sponsoring Hark Up this year. It was one of the best we have attended. The music was great, the message really hit us, and we loved the location. Thank you again for your part in it.”
